We do not believe in charging a hefty retainer fee. In fact, we only require a minimum 1 hour payment to retain our services. Why? Confidence. Our services sell themselves and over 95% of our clients voluntarily retain us for additional services. If you’re interested in a 3, 5, or 7 application plan, you can pay for 1 hour now and then apply that hour towards the cost of the plan.
We have two different payment options: an hourly rate and several fixed-fee application packages.
Click here if you want to work with Doug Braithwaite, Harvard MBA and former HBS Director of MBA Admissions!
The initial consultation is US$250.
If you later choose the hourly payment option, you will not pay us for services you do not desire and you will always be in charge of how we spend our time with you.
We recommend starting with an initial consultation. We can conduct this by phone or in person if you happen to live near a consultant.
In a one hour initial consultation we can:
- Assess your candidacy;
- Advise you on how to best highlight your strengths and mitigate your weaknesses;
- Recommend the best business schools for you based on your background, preferences, and future career goals
- Formulate a detailed action plan to ensure you are optimally positioned for your applications.
If you are happy with our services, you can apply the cost of this first hour paid to the price of a multiple application package. This will ensure your expectations match your consultant’s for your chances of gaining admission to the schools you are targeting in the application package.

Fixed-Fee Application Packages
In addition to the hourly fee option, we also offer a per application fee as well as 3 different application package fees with volume discount options.
All of our fixed-fee payment options include our signature comprehensive admissions consulting service (i.e. no hidden charges) and you will work one on one with a personal consultant who has admissions committee experience at a top business school. For all applications, we offer the following:
We will help you select business schools that are best for you given your background and future career goals. We will also give you an assessment of your chances at these schools. The “themes” that will best suit your admissions goals at each of the different business schools will also be ascertained. Last, but certainly not least, we will advise you on how to promote your strengths and mitigate – if not completely negate – your weaknesses as an MBA applicant.
Because all of our consulting is provided in a one-on-one setting, we will also be able to answer any particular questions you may have about the admissions process.
Essay topic selections
We will advise you on the best subjects and experiences from your background to write about for your applications. We can also save you time by helping you select your topics before you begin writing any of your essays. You may otherwise write several individual essays that look great individually but do not gel together to give the well-rounded picture of your candidacy that the admissions committees want to see. We will also ensure that your essays contain that “wow” factor that often differentiate successful applicants from unsuccessful ones at the most selective MBA programs.
Essay question editing (unlimited number of revisions)
We will review your essays for content as well as grammar. We will ensure that your essays maximize their “wow” factor to help differentiate your candidacy. We draw heavily on their admissions committee experience when reviewing your essays and, yes, your essays will be heavily weighted in the MBA programs’ decisions to admit or deny you admission.
Are all our consultants professional writers? Technically, yes because they are paid to review your essays. They are all very good writers with excellent communication skills. They know what you need to say in your essays and they will make sure it is said in the proper manner.
We also have an in-house editor who does a final line-by-line edit of every essay we edit.
We will be glad to talk to you about our consultants and which of them may be the best fit for your admissions needs.
Letters of reference consulting
We will guide you on how to select your recommenders, how to approach them, and what types of items to ask them to include in the letters of reference. Tips on how to wrestle control of the letter of reference away from your recommender so you can draft it will also be provided. Additionally, we will assure that the letters of reference compliment your overall admissions strategy and differentiate you from the many other recommendations that simply include a long list of favorable adjectives about their applicants.
Important note: If your recommender asks you to draft the letter for him or her to sign, your consultant will be glad to look over the draft.
We know what questions the admissions committees like to ask and they have an excellent intuition about the types of questions you can expect based on your unique background and experience. Our consultants also communicate frequently with each other. As a result, they are up to date on any new questions the various admissions officers may ask each season.
To prep you for your interview, we will advise you on what questions to expect and how to answer them. We also coach you on general interview strategies such as staying calm, eye contact, and appropriate dress attire.
Your application package will contain a minimum of three mock interview sessions. If you have a webcam, we will be happy to interview you via webcam and record the interviews for your later private playback and review.
We will help you select the best format and length for your resume. We will also provide you with examples of resumes in that particular format. Finally, we will review your resume for content, formatting, and grammar.
In addition to your essays, resume, and letters of reference, there are often times many short answer questions in the body of the application. Nearly all of the top business school applications request a lists of extracurricular activities, the other schools to which you are applying, etc. As part of our comprehensive admissions consulting services, we also review the actual application itself.
Unlimited contact (both phone and email)
We do not believe in limiting your interactions with your personal consultant and this will certainly not maximize your admissions chances. As a result, when you pay a flat fee, you are entitled to ask your consultant all the questions you have that relate to the application or applications covered by the package.
When may this be beneficial?
- You may remember another past experience that could be a potential essay topic after your initial consultation. If you think it may be better essay material than the agreed-upon topic from the previous conversation, call or email your consultant. He or she will give you professional advice on the proposed essay topic.
- You may have a question about a content comment in your revised essays.
- An event may occur following the initial consultation. Perhaps a potential recommender gets cold feet and declines to write a letter of reference on your behalf. Or maybe your supervisor offers you a prestigious rotation inside your company. Once again, contact your consultant and he or she will help you evaluate your best options and recommend any changes to your strategy to best exploit these new events.
- The majority of our clients will have follow-up contact with their consultants after the initial consultation. Keep in mind, we treat all of our clients as unique individuals and, quite simply, all applicants do have unique backgrounds. For brevity’s sake, we will not even attempt to list all the other other circumstances under which you may need to contact your consultant following the initial consultation.
