The UC Application now allows 2020 (Class of 2024) applicants to count computer science as a science requirement. Up to now, it has been counted as an elective. The expansion of the “Category D” choices will make it easier to demonstrate a third year of laboratory science. (All of the University of California campuses require two years, but a third is recommended. The third year had made a positive difference for borderline applicants in the past.)
