Dartmouth College received a record 23,641 applications for its Class of 2023. Expanded recruitment programming and the revamped admissions website and social media platforms largely drove the 7.3% increase from the 22,005 applications received last year. Dartmouth expects the 574 early decision admits to comprise 48% of the total Class of 2023. Regular round applicants should learn their decisions by March 28.
We believe the recent sexual harassment lawsuit kept the application volume from reaching an even higher record. However, we do not see a long-term impact from this scandal due to the college’s appropriate responses.
