Yale University admitted 9.02% of its early action (EA) applicants for its Class of 2028. The Yale Daily News reports this is the school’s lowest EA acceptance rate in over two decades. The number of EA applicants rose to 7,856 from 7,744 in 2022 and the number of admits dropped from 776 last year to 709 this year.
Only 20% of the EA applicants were deferred to the regular round and 70% of the applicants were rejected. The remaining 1% (79 applicants) withdrew their applications or submitted incomplete applications.
Congratulations to the admitted early action applicants. For those who were not admitted, keep calm and hopeful. There should be plenty of more applications that have either already been submitted or that will be submitted before the mostly early January deadlines to ensure you have good options to select from come spring!
