What does AdmissionsConsultants do?
AdmissionsConsultants is more than an application service—we help students discover who they are and where they want to go. Acting as mentors and strategists, we guide students to:
- Build a smart academic and extracurricular plan throughout high school
- Identify colleges that truly fit their personality, interests, and long-term goals
- Strengthen their profile to stand out in a competitive admissions landscape
- Stay motivated and organized with long-term planning and career exploration
Think of us as partners in your student’s journey from high school to college.
How can parents tell the difference between great and “just okay” college coaching services?
Exceptional consultants don’t simply provide instructions — they empower applicants to present their strongest, most authentic selves. At AdmissionsConsultants, we:
- Break down the admissions process clearly and patiently
- Strengthen each applicant’s confidence and decision‑making skills
- Provide personalized, step‑by‑step guidance
- Develop a strategic plan tailored to the applicant’s unique strengths and goal
Most importantly, we uphold the highest ethical standards. We follow all legal and confidentiality requirements, never complete work on a student’s behalf, and never promise guaranteed admission — because no one can.
We also take a principled approach to school selection. We never encourage applicants to include a “safety school” in a paid application package. For clients who purchase a Summit Package, all ten applications are to reach schools. Applicants shouldn’t pay for support at a school they’re already confident they can get into — and we honor that.
When is the right time to start college coaching?
At any time. Starting in 9th grade gives students a powerful head start — it opens the door to deeper exploration of their interests, strategic course selection, and the development of standout “wow” factors that strengthen their applications. That said, whether a student is a freshman just beginning their journey or a senior looking for clarity in the final stretch, coaching provides structure, confidence, and expert guidance every step of the way.
In some cases, families begin even earlier. This can happen when they’re deciding between public and private high schools or when students enroll in middle‑school IB courses that will ultimately count toward their high school diploma. While this represents a smaller portion of our clients, it’s absolutely an option when early planning is beneficial.
Why invest in AdmissionsConsultants?
School counselors do incredible work, but they often manage hundreds of students and must prioritize emotional needs. Our consultants focus solely on the college process and work with a smaller caseload, allowing for deeper, more individualized support.
With one-on-one guidance, students receive help with:
- Creating a balanced and strategic college list
- Crafting strong applications and standout essays
- Staying organized and meeting deadlines
- Understanding financial aid and scholarships
- Strengthening their overall applicant profile
The result? Less stress, more clarity, and a confident path forward.
Is virtual counseling as effective as meeting in person?
Absolutely. Virtual counseling is now the preferred choice for most families because it’s flexible, accessible, and just as effective as in-person meetings. With today’s technology, students receive high-quality, personalized support no matter where they live.
Plus, virtual coaching allows families to choose the best consultant for their needs—not just the closest one.
Is AdmissionsConsultants only for top students aiming for elite colleges?
Not at all. AdmissionsConsultants works with students of every academic level and background. Our mission is to help each student uncover their strengths, explore meaningful opportunities, and find colleges where they’ll thrive—whether that’s a highly selective school or a hidden gem that’s perfect for them.
With the right guidance, students often discover paths they didn’t even know were possible.
