It appears GRExit is being accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. This movement, which was initially, fueled by concerns about racial inequities and the GRE’s effectiveness in predicting graduate school success, has now gained even further traction due to the pandemic.
Several schools that have temporarily dropped the GRE (general and subject tests) are talking about making the move permanent. Some programs go as far as to not allow applicants to submit their GRE scores as well. We’ll continue to follow this potential trend and update this blog accordingly.
