McGill University just received the biggest educational donation in Canadian history. John and Marcy McCall MacBain donated the $200 million (US$150 million). Moreover, it will fund about 75 Canadian and international graduate students each year.
In addition to funding the students’ educations, the scholarships will also provide other benefits. Mentorship, international experience and community development opportunities are also included.
However, these scholarships will not be available immediately. McGill will begin accepting applications for these scholarships in 2020. Consequently, the first McCall MacBain scholars will not start their studies until 2021.
