MIT’s graduate engineering school earned the top rank.
US News & World Report released their best graduate schools rankings. MIT, Stanford, and UC Berkeley were ranked the top three in that order for engineering. For nursing masters degrees, Emory took the top spot followed by Johns Hopkins and University of Pennsylvania. There were ties galore for education where Columbia and University of Michigan tied for the top spot. There was also a three-way tie at the third spot between Northwestern, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Wisconsin – Madison.
All of these ties make us wonder just how granularly defined these rankings really are. We believe this is a good segue into our ritualistic disclaimer to take all rankings with a big grain of salt. Please choose the school that is best for your particular fit. The rankings change and the school you attend will at some point drop in the rankings. If you chose that school for your own reasons, you won’t be stressed when (read: not if) the program does take a tumble at some point in the future.
