Last week, Interim Dean Latonia Haney Keith announced that Concordia University School of Law was going to permanently close this fall. The school was forced to reach this difficult decision after failing to reach an agreement with Concordia University in Portland and Concordia St. Paul that would have allowed the law school to continue as an affiliate.

Concordia has had financial difficulties for quite some time. While we certainly empathize with the students as well as the faculty and administrative staff, we hope this serves as a warning to prospective law school applicants of the dangers of targeting a less financially stable law school even if its admission standards may be a bit lower.
