In Career, Rankings, School Selection

GradReports, a rankings website, mined LinkedIn to conclude that the University of Chicago Law School (11%) had the highest percentage of recent alumni working at the top ten law firms. University of Virginia School of Law (10%) and Northwestern Pritzker School of Law (9%) were ranked second and third, respectively. While Georgetown University Law Center and Harvard Law School did technically have the largest cohorts at these top ten law firms, they actually landed outside the top ten of this ranking due to their very large class sizes.

This ranking is no more reliable than the data it is based off and, while plenty of recent law school graduates use LinkedIn, we are not sure there are enough users with accurate enough data to substantiate the rather minute differences between the percentage of recent graduates of these schools. Nonetheless, we do believe the LinkedIn information is valid enough to base such a study on and we hope that all of our readers understand that their ultimate school selection decision should be based on many factors in addition to the myriad of published rankings.
