In Rankings

Columbia Business School announced that it will also abstain from all rankings for 2020. This spring, the GMAC and the AACSB and EFMD accreditation agencies encouraged the major rankings to forego ranking the b-schools this year. The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a serious toll on all the MBA programs and between employment outcomes and the “quality” of the incoming classes, 2020 rankings could produce significant turmoil. It could also tempt schools to report fudged numbers. While only Bloomberg BusinessWeek has announced it will suspend its rankings, it’s our hope the other major ranking organizations will follow suit. (Forbes only ranks b-schools in odd-number years.)
