Examining the MBA Pay Gaps
The Financial Times published a great article highlighting the gender wage gap among MBAs. The article contains a lot of details. It breaks out the gender wage gap by industry and gives some analysis for each of those industries. It also provides the wage gap timeline (3% pre MBA to 28% five years after graduation) as well as information on the minority wage gap. (The minority wage gap actually shrinks from 24% pre MBA to 12% post MBA.)
If you are a prospective female and/or minority MBA applicant, we certainly encourage you to read the article linked above. While we certainly hope you won’t “shoot the messenger,” at least you will have a bit more expectations management should the wage gaps persist and understand some of the drivers behind those pay gaps.
