UCLA Playing ‘Hardball’ with International Admits

 In Uncategorized

Poets & Quants has a nice article about UCLA Anderson’s tough stance with international applicants. As the article explains the school notified its international admits that they would not be able to defer this year. Their options are to show up for the start of the fall semester or start the program online. There is concern student visas may not be processed in time due to the closing of US consulates as a result of the pandemic.

If you are one of these affected admits, please understand, for whatever it’s worth, that we do empathize with you. Historically, we have found UCLA Anderson, and most other top b-schools, to be rather reasonable when it came to deferral requests. Also, please understand that there is a chance this move might create considerable backlash and UCLA may ultimately reconsider this policy. (Read: We wouldn’t count on it, but there is a chance even it is slight.)
