In Rankings

US News just released its 2020 medical school rankings. Harvard and Johns Hopkins remained one and two, respectively for the top research medical schools. In the primary care rankings, UNC remained number one. However, University of Washington and UCSF flipped ranking positions. (In other words, University of Washington is now second and UCSF is now third.)

We are very grateful that our medical school applicants don’t pay close attention to the ever-shifting medical school rankings. Above all, we don’t understand what a med school can change in a 12 month period to significantly change. Their students are there for four years. Certainly, their faculty is there much longer. So, thank you for reading our vent and thank you for not putting too much faith in these annual rankings.
