This may become a big “nothing burger,” but the Wall Street Journal has another editorial railing against the “woke” culture that is becoming more widespread at medical schools. We chose to blog about this because it has received a lot of social media attention in the immediate aftermath of its publication. We don’t know if this will ultimately represent a pendulum swing in popular opinion or policy, but we thought it was worth bringing to the attention of our blog readers.
As we stated in our last blog three days ago, the “woke climate” at the nation’s medical schools is quickly changing and we strongly advise you to talk to current students or at the very least very recent alumni to gauge a school’s culture.
