The upcoming medical school admissions season will soon be in full swing. AMCAS, the centralized application service used by most U.S. medical schools, and the AACOMAS (the centralized application service for osteopathic medical schools) will both open in early May.
Senior Consultant Dr. Wayne Shelton. reminds aspiring doctors to plan on getting their applications in early.
“Keep in mind the importance of getting in your application as early as possible,” he says. “The admissions process works on a rolling basis, with available seats going to successful applicants as they are chosen. If you wait until later in the admissions cycle, there may not be any seats left. It is to your advantage to get in the admissions process as early as possible.”
