Pennsylvania is set to get a new osteopathic medical school. The Duquesne University College of Osteopathic Medicine is set to open in 2023. Initially, Duquesne plans to admit 75 students into its inaugural class. However, once the school is at full capacity, it expects to admit 150 students each year.
Ken Gormley, Duquesne University’s President, proclaimed, “This major leap forward for Duquesne, Pittsburgh and our region is a bold move that recognizes how health care requires new kinds of practitioners.”
