We might have some good news for our current group of blog readers who are likely planning to apply next year — assuming they’re not waiting to hear back on their final applications this year — but plans for a proposed Kansas Health Science Center and Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine in downtown Wichita are underway. The school plans to open in 2022 and help address the primary care physician shortage in Kansas.
The proposed school has received candidate status from the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation. The application for pre-accreditation status, the next step in the opening process, is expected to be filed in the next few weeks.
