US News delayed this year’s rankings release.
In an about face from last week, US News announced it was delaying the release of its 2023-2024 medical school rankings for a week so it could investigate concerns the schools raised. More specifically, US News has released their rankings to the ranked schools early to provide them with an opportunity to raise any concerns before the official release. (All of this is done on the condition the schools will not reveal the rankings to anyone outside their organizations.)
This year, a larger-than-expected number of concerns were raised that have resulted in US News delaying the rankings release. If you are wondering if this is part of the schools’ boycott/rebellion against the rankings, well … the larger-than-expected number of concerns also apply to the law school and other graduate school rankings in addition to the medical school rankings.
