According to ETS, the company behind the GRE, over half of the US law schools now accept the GRE. With the recent addition of the University of Miami’s law school to the list of those accepting the GRE, 102 of the 195 ABA-accredited law schools are now accepting the GRE. That is 52%. For some additional perspective, it was only 45% last month!
We expect the number of schools to continue to rise after the ABA voted to allow law schools to accept the GRE in lieu of the LSAT last year. How long it takes to reach whatever percent is considered the next ‘milestone’ will play out in time. As long as a standardized test is required, we do, unequivocally, expect to see the number of law schools that accept the GRE to continue to rise for the foreseeable future.
